Lugano and Zurich offer the Swiss Rules of International Arbitration. More information on www.swissarbitration.chAutonomy of the partiesThe Swiss Rules of International Arbitation give a lot of autonomy to the parties in establishing procedures and the choice of arbitrators. The parties can thus influence the cost and the duration of the proceedings.Seat of ArbitrationThe seat of arbitration is Basel, unless the parties decide for another city in Switzerland or abroad. Meetings can be held anywhere the parties choose.Fast-TrackWhen the amount in dispute is below 1 million Swiss Francs, and in all other arbitrations where the parties so agree, a fast-track procedure with short delays and accelerated procedurs will apply.Initiating arbitrationA Notice of Arbitration has to be submitted to the Basel Chamber of Commerce, Aeschenvorstadt 67, CH-4010 Basel, Switzerland in as many copies as there are other parties, together with an additional copy for each arbitrator and the Chamber.
